| Comment | Still heavily compressed but some of the older songs nonetheless sound better than they do on the albums they were taken from, as if when compiling this release, they sourced higher quality versions of each track before compressing them. Live Forever is louder with less DR than on Definitely Maybe whilst sounding fuller, crisper and less bright than that version (the difference is noticeable on Liam's vocals and on Noel's guitar - you can hear some solos that are barely audible on the single and album versions). Wonderwall is a slightly different mix to that heard before. Liam's vocal has a different reverb effect on it and some of the acoustic guitar work in the bridge is more prominent than it is on (What's the Story) Morning Glory?. |
