Comment | Audio obtained from DVD using DVD Audio Extractor. AC3 Stereo Audio was used. Resulting 24bit 48KHz WAV files resampled and dithered with Izotope RX2 Advanced to 16bit 44.1KHz. On comparison to the VHS (which was copied to CD-R with a Traxdata standalone recorder), the average RMS are very close, but the dynamics range is 2-3 marks greater on the DVD. Tone and sound is very similar between the original anlogue production and the new digital production. The only difference being in the placement or the main vocal in the sound stage. The VHS being slightly left of centre, the DVD being central. The actual concert footage shows the main vocalist slightly off centre, left, so the VHS is arguably truer, however, the DVD makes for a very good sounding standalone live recording.
