| Comment | It may end up on many "best of" lists for 2010, but it will never end up on a best of list for mastering. The first song is so compressed that it has visible distortion all over a chorus line, and EVERY bassline might as well be a square wave. They are just squashed beyond oblivion. And how can anything else really happen when songs like "Monster" drops to -2.5 RMS and maintains it!? Nothing can survive that, and it's not the only song that goes that far... there is an obsession with -3 and -4 RMS. And then there is "All Of The Lights" that actually makes the realtime meter hit -1.6 RMS occassionally! "Runaway" is also destroyed in the process, and sounds quite "gritty" and unpolished due to being pushed so hard. It says DR of 5 for the overall score, but if you remove the interlude that is 11, the actual album becomes 4.
