| Comment | stockfish is committed to true audiophile productions and believe me when I tell you that these guys take their job seriously. It is a SACD but i only could read the CD layer. The sound is breathtaking, just wonderfully present in the room with an immense sound-stage. crisp sound and deep subs - absolutely top notch Not very surprising to me the DR is "just" 08. I have seen similar results in another extremely well recorded CD (Contact myself). So 08 seems to be just the limit where you can take the Loudness and get away with almost no audible sound degradation. But also notice how the Peaks stay clear at -0,5 dB. Still, I would rather stockfish would refrain from taking DR any lower. In general it is painfull to watch how even a reputed recording studio, not in the mainstream is giving in. The early works from stockfish with stephenson (these days) still had a DR of 10. So stockfish is just going with the masses - a shame. (0.Wolter) |
