| Comment | Some noise reduction used, which does kill some of the higher frequencies, but when that tape hiss is pulled back it's easier to notice more details from the songs. The tape hiss is very quiet, but still audible in places. I prefer it to the 1990 disc. Common consensus from my readings is that it's about equivalent to the 1990 disc, but generally better overall. Vinyl reviews for this mastering say it's worse compared to a 2010 or 1973 pressing, but nowhere near bad. This is my go-to version from now on if that means anything to ya. |
