An already somewhat lo-fi album with plenty of saturation cannot handle extreme loudness boosts - yet this is exactly what happens here. On a scale of 1-10, "Girls Like You" is a 12. 11 is not accurate. Equally offensive are "A Wolf In Geek's Clothing", which goes for the juggernaut in loudness terms, and "Spank", which is filled with so much distortion that I'm not sure if it was intentional or not. This album is the very definition of the loudness war. |
