| Comment | Although liner notes claim otherwise, this disc (which becomes even more apparent on vol. 2) seems to be remastered not from master tapes, but from other sources (CD's/LP's). As a result there's no improvement in dynamics over the original releases (tracks that originally had low DR are as compressed here, just turned down, so they match the volume of those with high DR). That's a pity as I was really looking forward to comparing some poorly released tracks with their audiophile counterparts issued here. It still sounds very good and the music - unlike most samplers - is highly enjoyable.
