| Comment | This single uses a mastering of "My Before And After" with much greater dynamic range than the album version. There is also a tremendous EQ difference, with the high end toned down considerably and the bass boosted. Presumably, this mastering was done for the Rainbow Quartz split 7" with Fraff, and was re-used for the CD single. As of 2020, this is the only 'Kontiki' album track whose original mix has been released with a substantially different mastering than the album version. The B-sides are the same performances found on the "Password" CD single, but with different mastering. "Aurora Bori Alice" (misspelled as "Alis" on the insert) is heavily compressed for the first two-thirds of the song, peaking at about -5 dB, but over the course of about 15 seconds the compressor releases its grip and the song finishes with much greater dynamic range (and higher peak levels) than it started with. "Church Of Wilson" is still moderately compressed, but less so here than on the "Password" single. |
