| Comment | Discogs release: #5006292 What Are "Japanese Black Triangle CD's" ??? Japanese Black Triangle CD's were the 1st generation CD's produced by EMI-Toshiba and released only in Japan during the initial launch of the CD format back in 1983. The name "Black triangle" is derived from the label design / logo printed on the CD face. Most of the Black Triangle titles pressed went out-of-print in less than a couple of years and are now highly sought after by fans, collectors and audio enthusiasts because of the reasonably flat equalization used during the mastering to CD from the Japanese master tapes. Throughout the mid 1980s Japanese Black Triangle releases offered a more accurate and improved audio quality compared to the 1st generation CD releases from the UK, US and most of Europe. Note from another user: On this CD (and also on the Sonopress USA CD that I have of this album), the entire second half of "The Reflex" is about 2.5 dB quieter than the first half. This problem does not seem to be present on the two US and UK CD releases listed here on this database. |
