Comment | "All credit goes to deadweight swe for sharing this. This is a version of the album from a gold CD-R that was made at the studio Beck and the Dust Brothers were probably using for mixing the album. It contains a number of interesting differences, though the most notable is the inclusion of the original mixes of Novacane and Sissyneck with the uncleared samples. The full list of differences are below: The CD-R is labeled LP#2 and has noted on it Not final titles, not mastered, not final mixes and not final sequences. Some of the tracks have different names on the labels. Jack-Ass is named Millius, Ramshackle is named Marty Robbins and Lord Only Knows is named Odelay. Dont know if Devils Haircut is listed as Electric Music or if Minus had Karaoke Bloodperm as its subtitle or not, though both of those tracks had those names until pretty close to the albums release. Readymade appears after High 5. There is a tiny bit of feedback before The New Pollution begins. The beeps in Pollution match the version from the Deluxe Edition. Could the beeps sound different on the original release due to tweaks at the mastering stage? There is no surface noise at the start of Where Its At. The samples that were removed from Sissyneck and Novacane are intact in these mixes, so you get to hear the Barbie bits and the alternate outro in Sissyneck and the original keyboard breaks in Novacane as well as some effects. The whole album is unmastered so its a lot quieter than any other versions available. This is a minor thing to note, but Hotwax is the same mix as on the original album and DOES NOT include the double tracked vocals from the Deluxe Edition. That said, its notable that the extended bit on the Deluxe Edition version of Sissyneck matches where the Barbie samples would be. Computer Rock is not present. Maybe it was added at the mastering stage." |
