| Comment | Note that the third disc of this box set (tracks 32-41) is of course actually performed by Nico, but I've omitted this in this log to make it all show up in the same file. Also note that the Valleydale Ballroom performance (the last two discs/nine tracks) is comprised of a mono bootleg audience recording with all the sound quality problems this implies. I'm sure the Universal recording engineers have tried to clean this up as best as possible, but there's only so much you can do even with modern sound technology. Strangely, I have a bootleg of what certainly appears to be the same set that is in stereo, but the sound fidelity isn't really any better. I'm not sure why the label chose to present the performance in mono, unless they simply didn't know about the stereo recording, or felt that the stereo separation wasn't impressive enough to bother with. |
