Comment | This release is unusual; it is a DVD-V containing only 24/96 stereo audio (no video/surround/compression). It was recorded live in Germany on 10/11 November 1999. This symphony is extremely difficult to record as it uses very large forces. Considering that no compressors or equalisers were used the DR figure may seem disappointing, however, the last movement is particularly loud all the way through. This is the most realistic & exciting recording/performance I have heard on disc. |
